WaterPlace Park Engagement Photos for a New Year’s Eve Wedding in Providence, RI
After meeting Ashley to discuss her New Year’s Eve wedding plans, I knew that she and Aaron would love WaterPlace Park engagement photos, complete with sparklers! Providence is such a beautiful city, although it is often overlooked by its larger counterpart, Boston.
Super Bowl Sunday was chilly, but a perfect time to get out in WaterPlace Park without anyone around. The whole time we were there, we only saw a group of kids skateboarding. Therefore, we had the whole place to ourselves! I came prepared with pockets full of gold glitter, to match their metallic wedding theme. Luckily, I was able to pull from my stock pile of sparklers to bring an extra special touch for their New Year’s Eve wedding save the dates.
Typical of any engagement session, we spent the majority of the time talking about food…. because who doesn’t love food?! Needless to say, I left Providence VERY hungry! What I did not realize that when the Patriots play the Super Bowl, most restaurants shut down early. Finally, we ended up finding a spot at the local sports bar and were able to get some grub before watching the big game. GO PATS!

What a great post. I love Waterplace Park and this couple shows why: It’s an awesome place for formal engagement photos and has some interesting details that it’s worth a trip anytime you’re in Providence.

Your use of natural lighting and off camera lighting is so balanced! These are fun ideas for save the dates and I loved the beautiful Rhode Island engagement location of WaterPlace Park. Engagement sessions should always be this fun! Great work by Danyel Stapleton!

This is truly a beautifully captured Waterplace Park engagement session. The couple is Gorgeous and you did an amazing job photographing their love. It wasnt even like they were posed at all!

Awesome engagement session at Waterplace Park in Providence! Your photography has a light airy fun vibe and these two look like they’re so fun to photograph. The sparkelers are a perfect touch for a New Years Eve wedding, great job with that. Those will be perfect for their save the dates.
