Beach Engagement Photos

There’s a beautiful thing about shooting beach engagement photos in the fall, there’s no one around! In fact, September is my ideal time of year to hit the beach for engagement photos. Located in Rhode Island, I don’t often go to North Shore Boston, unless work brings me there. I was delighted as I drove through the sleepy little town of Swampscott on the way to meet my couple. Swampscott reminded me a lot of Plymouth. It is a beautiful old New England town. Although modern in many ways, so much of the old architecture is still present throughout the town.

First, we started the engagement photos on the town green. The green was directly across from the ocean, so it made for a perfect spot! The greenery was the perfect way to compliment the beach in the couple’s final gallery. We did a quick walk through the park, followed by some dancing through the gazebo. No engagement session with me is complete without random dancing somewhere.

Then it was down to the beach

The sea wall was right across from the green. We were able to take some great photos right at sunset overlooking the ocean. Once again, there was some dancing involved! Beach engagement photos are always best right at sunset so the light isn’t too strong or harsh. I loved using the natural light during this engagement session. It was great to be free from all the extra equipment I usually have with me!

I had so much fun during this beach engagement session. I can not wait for their Nahant Country Club wedding this spring!
