I love wine. I love wine tours, visiting vineyards, and wine tastings. Let me tell you, I was extremely excited to take a trip to Coventry, CT to photograph a Cassidy Hill Vineyard wedding. After going to school at Eastern Connecticut State,  the drive to Coventry brought back some fond memories of living in CT. My roommate my freshman year of school was from Coventry!

I met the bride and her family at the Daniel Rust House B&B. I pulled down the long driveway and knew right away the grounds were perfect for bridal portraits. Although the clouds were grey and threatening rain, it was holding off! The Maybell Cottage at the Daniel Rust House was cozy and rustic. With so many ladies packed in the cottage, we opted to get the dress laced up outside on the beautifully designed patio. Everywhere you looked, there were flowers, butterflies, and birds. The children could wind through what looked like fairy gardens while waiting for the grown ups to be done.

We started to head over to Cassidy Hill Vineyard, the rain started. The light sprinkle did not stop the days festivities! The wedding ceremony was set up under a large tree in the middle of the vineyard, surrounded by the rows of grape vines. The couple had a violinist playing for their ceremony music. Everything wrapped together beautifully. In the misty rain, with the music from the violin strings filling the air, we watched as this wonderful couple said their vows and became man and wife. Because of the rain, we spent only a few minutes outside for family and bride and groom portraits. We were still able to capture some gorgeous family keepsakes.

 

Rustic Wedding Reception

The reception area at Cassidy Hill is everything rustic. Similar to a barn feel, the vineyard adorns wood walls, high ceilings with wood beams, and a wonderfully large bar with a vast selection of the vineyard’s wines. Most noteworthy, a large stone fireplace. The couple went with Danny’s Little Taste of Texas BBQ. The smell of the food made me instantly hungry! The wedding reception was the essence of a small BBQ style reception. No frills, just good food, great wine and friends and family celebrating.  As a result, this wedding was 100% stress free!
