First of all, summer was perfect for this Easton’s Beach Rotunda Ballroom wedding. In the heat of summer, Nicole and Elliott had a laid back Beauty and the Beast themed wedding. Both Aquidneck Island natives, they kept their wedding day events in the Newport area.
Getting Ready
While the boys got ready at home, Nicole was pampered at LockStar Salon. LockStar is beautifully decorated and offered plenty of room for the bridal party. After the girls were ready, we headed over to the hotel to get the dress on.
Save Money!
With the guys and gals getting ready minutes from each other, it was easy to save on their wedding costs by not having a second photographer. So many people think a second is MANDATORY, but it’s not! I started with the girls, popped over to the guys, then went right back to the salon. Most of all, this kept money in their pockets for other fun things!
Paradise Valley Park Ceremony
The ceremony took place at the foot of the Paradise Valley Park windmill. First, the Beauty and the Beast theme was apparent with the signage at the ceremony. It was beautifully crafted, complete with faux stained glass. Next, the wedding was small and intimate. Finally, the couple had a unity candle and readings from their best man and maid of honor.
Easton’s Beach has a Carousel!
Yes- that’s right! Carousel wedding photos are a must! While I am not a huge fan of the spinning, I sucked it up to get great photos of Nicole and Elliott. Because of my fear of spinning, the best photos were when I was off the ride! Finally we headed in to the reception at the Rotunda Ballroom.
The Rotunda Ballroom
The Rotunda Ballroom is circular in shape, overlooking Easton’s Beach. Windows surround the room creating a light and bright atmosphere. The room is LARGE. There would be plenty of room for a larger sized wedding.
Finally, Nicole and Elliott stuck to all the wedding traditions. Parent dances started the night, followed by the first dance as man and wife. Bouquet and garter toss was done and the party started! As always, I took the couple out before leaving for their night portrait in front of the venue.
