Rachel’s Lakeside Wedding

When I showed up to Caitlyn and Patrick’s wedding consult, I realized I was still wearing a big plastic Darth Vader ring my son had given me. Normally, this would be my usual attire, but I do try to be professional when it comes to work! After shaking hands, I quickly apologized, explaining why I was wearing a ring that came from the top of a cupcake. Caitlyn just laughed, and then added that she and Patrick were having a Harry Potter/Star Wars themed wedding. That’s the moment I knew I HAD to photograph this wedding!

I have been saying for the past few months, this is the wedding I would have planned for myself. Books as centerpieces, a sorting hat at the place card table, the one ring, it doesn’t get much better. Once I saw some wands and light sabers at the photo booth, I knew some epic pictures were in order for the end of the night.

This was my first time photographing a Rachel’s Lakeside wedding. The ceremony was outdoors with a lovely little gazebo. The best part of the venue was a beautiful big old tree in the front that made for the perfect backdrop for an epic spell battle. Overall this was one of the most fun weddings I have ever worked. Caitlyn and Patrick are my “spirit couple”.
