Plimoth Plantation Garden Wedding
Plimoth Plantation Garden Wedding | Plymouth, MA
Kristen and Brandon found me via their family friend, and hair dresser, Colleen. I was so excited to work with them! Even more so when I realized the groom and I had worked together years ago! It made this wedding day extra special.

Getting Ready at Home
When bride’s get ready in their family home it brings a whole new aspect to the day. I am able to see them in surroundings that they are truly comfortable in. Kristen’s morning was perfect. Relaxed and easy going, with neighbors dropping by rot say congratulations. The large sliding glass door ins the living room made for perfect light for me!

When to Choose a Second Photographer
First thing to consider when choosing a second photographer is where will the bride and groom be getting ready. Do you want photos of the groom getting ready? If you are not getting ready close to each other, you will need a second photographer with the guys. While I usually work solo, it’s always nice to have an extra perspective on the day. Seconds typically work from the guys getting ready until cake cutting. They are available to cover your cocktail hour. Best of all, they are able to capture all the details of your reception location before anyone touches it!

I LOVED seeing tan suits on the guys. It was perfect for a summer day. I am sure they were thankful to NOT be in all black! Photo by Julie Cameron Photography for DSP

The short Tiffany blue dresses were perfect for this summer wedding at Plymouth Plantation.
The Clouds Rolled In
Clouds rolled in, but the rain never came! While many photographers love an overcast day, they aren’t my favorite. Plimoth Plantation’s garden ceremony location was beautiful. Cloudy days do make colors really pop in photographs. Flowers were in bloom and the garden was full of lush greens. A beautiful stone lined frog pond sat at the base of the ceremony location.

The Bride and Groom incorporated a sand ceremony in their garden wedding.
Summer Wedding Colors
Kristen and Brandon nailed their summer wedding colors. Groomsmen looked cool and comfortable in tan suits. Boutonnieres were wrapped in burlap to tie in the rustic theme. Bridesmaid donned Tiffany blue short dresses. Selecting different styles for each girl, every dress was perfect for their bridesmaid. Most importantly creating a modern wedding look.

The gardens at Plymouth Plantation were lush and green. The overcast day really made the colors pop for the couple’s wedding portraits.
Rustic Wedding Feels
Plymouth Plantation’s reception space was perfect for the rustic wedding. An outdoor cocktail area overlooked a large field. Inside, the large windows and vaulted ceilings were stunning. Rustic wedding touches of burlap created an elegant look for this Plymouth wedding.
Before leaving, I grabbed the Bride and Groom for their nighttime photo. Plimoth Plantation has a great big barn that was the perfect way to end their rustic wedding day!
