Senior guys get pictures done with DSP?!! WHAT???! NO-really. They do. There is a definite lack of male presence here on my website. I’m sure all the pastel water colors and flowers aren’t helping the guys feel like this is the right place for them. BUT, I assure you, it is!
There are a TON of reasons why I love working with senior guys. First of all- clothing changes are super quick. Generally, guys will bring a few different shirts, and maybe a change of pants. Guys will almost always change out in the open or in the car. Now I always have my changing room with me, but not having to pop that sucker up saves a TON of time!
All my clients tend to be a little nervous when stepping in front of the camera, but senior guys have the both the nervous and the “my mom is making me do this” thing going on. It is hilarious! Thankfully, I have 15 years of experience working in retail (PacSun, AE, Aeropostale), so working with high school boys is what I have the most experience in. It definitely helps that I’m the same age as Mom, but have tattoos and rainbow hair. I will always find the one subject that will break the ice, and one that will complete embarrass him – sports followed by the girlfriend inquisition. These tricks of the trade ensure that my senior feels completely comfortable, and I can conjure up some genuine smiles.
