I had the pleasure of meeting Daniela at a local Bridal expo outside Boston. After our consult with her and her fiancé, I was absolutely stoked for their wedding weekend bash. Dani and Chris were so unique in their wedding planning. Their wedding weekend started with a Maine destination wedding and finished closer to home in Walpole. The couple was so sweet they sent me a PDF with all their favorite spots on the drive up to Maine!
Their wedding weekend started in Rockport, ME. First, a smaller group of friends and family gathered at the Samoset Resort for getting ready festivities. The Samoset has a reputation of being one of the best, picturesque places to stay on the Maine coast. Dainela’s dress was simple and stunning, with a lace, chiffon, and a rhinestone belt. The guys rocked navy blue and the ladies simple taupe gowns.
Daniela and Chris had a full Catholic ceremony in a simple historic church nestled in Camden, ME. Surrounded by friends and family from all over the world, the two exchanged vows on a rainy summer day. The couple incorporated a candle ceremony as well as an offering to Mother Mary. Their son was incorporated as alter boy as well as during the blessing. After the “I Dos”, we used the cover of the chapel for some quick portraits of the bridal party before heading out for couples’ photos.
Thankfully, the rain let up for about 20 minutes on Dani and Chris’ wedding day. We shuffled over to the Rockport Marine Park for portraits with the couple. Dani had chosen this park specifically for it’s New England flair and a special statue of Andre the seal. Andre is a local marine celebrity in New England. Check out his story here! Overall the park was a photography gem, with tons of different nuances and picturesque spots. Luckily the rain held off until we were done, only starting to downpour as we got into our cars! To wrap up the day we went back to the Samoset for a small reception dinner. Dani changed into a gold beaded cocktail dress and the couple spent the evening with her closest friends and family.
The next day I spent driving home to get some rest for Sunday’s reception at Walpole’s BSV German Club. When I pulled into the BSV I was blown away with how beautiful the grounds were. This is NOT your typical hall! The grounds boasted pine forest, beautiful fields, and meticulously manicured flower beds. The room was decorated in blush and gold, with accent of French Bulldogs to represent the couple’s fur babies and love for the breed. Since Daniela and Chris had their Maine destination wedding, their at home celebration started with cocktail hour. I was able to mingle with guests as well as take the couple out for additional portraits.
Overall the wedding weekend was amazing! It was my first Maine destination wedding, but I’m sure not my last! I have always loved going North on my own trips. Having the opportunity to work surrounded by my favorite New England location is definitely a win win!
