If you’re dreaming of a wedding that feels like stepping into another era, a Reserve on Dorrance delivers something truly unforgettable. Nestled in the heart of Providence, this historic venue, once the old Federal Reserve building, offers one of the most unique and luxurious settings for a Providence winter wedding. With its 1920s architecture, gold beveled ceilings, and dramatic stained glass windows, it’s no surprise this space is considered one of the most iconic vintage wedding venues in Providence. If you know me you know I’m in love historic buildings and the city of Providence!
Originally built in the 1920s, the Reserve on Dorrance is rich with history and character. Every detail, from the ornate ceilings to the beautiful windows, create a dramatic, romantic atmosphere. It feels straight out of The Great Gatsby. For couples searching for wedding venues in Providence that offer both elegance and personality, this venue strikes the perfect balance.
Its location in downtown Providence also makes it incredibly convenient. For this wedding, the couple chose to hold their ceremony at the nearby Providence G Ballroom. It was just a quick one minute walk away. After a champagne at the Providence G guest transitioned into their reception at the Reserve. This seamless flow between ceremony and reception is a huge plus for guests, especially during the colder winter months.

Choosing a Providence winter wedding date on New Year’s Eve was a dream come true for the bride, Kelsey. And honestly, there’s no better excuse for a celebration. The entire day was designed with a vibe that felt classy, elegant, and romantic, while still leaving plenty of room for an unforgettable party.
The bride and groom kept it traditional with no first look. What does your timeline look like with no first look? We got the wedding party “sides” photographed prior to the ceremony, so we only had to get the full wedding party photo at cocktail hour. Aside from that time saver, everything else flows the same, except for instead of attending cocktail hour, it’s formal photo time!
Kelsey and Zach exchanged private vows after the ceremony in the vault at the Reserve. It gave them a chance to have a quiet, personal moment together after officially tying the knot.
The wedding party set the tone with dressed in timeless black gowns and tuxes, adding to the sophisticated vintage aesthetic. Kelsey’s gown, from Ivory Bridal, was effortlessly beautiful with a vintage inspired feel that perfectly complemented the venue. Later in the evening, she changed into a short party dress. The two were ready to fully embrace the New Year’s Eve energy!
