Shawna and Matt had a beautiful Crestwood Country Club wedding on a rainy Spring day. Crestwood Country Club is conveniently located deep in the woods of Rehoboth Massachusetts, but still only minutes from Providence. It is a beautiful ton for couples that want that woodsy feel without being too far away from hotels and after hours activities!
The couple met through the military while we were deployed together in Kuwait. Matt proposed to Shawna the day before the Fourth of July when they were setting up for a large party at our house. He had invited his family over to help set up so they could be a part of the proposal. While Shawna was watering the garden, Matt’s sister-in-law came out with their dog carrying a “will you marry me” sign on his neck.
I officially met Shawna and Matt at their engagement session in the midst of COVID. They not only had a great sense of humor (bringing gas masks to their session during a pandemic), but they also brought their two pups (win)! I knew right away that their wedding was going to be super fun, super laid back, and an absolute JOY to capture.
Gathering and mask restrictions were thankfully lifted the day prior to their wedding! So of course, that meant it would have to downpour the entire day!
Matt and Shawna decided to keep things on the traditional side and opted for no first look. Their ceremony was absolutely beautiful. They kept everything sweet and simple, sharing their union with their friends and family.
Crestwood Country Club had a bit of a covered area out front, so we were able to run outside for a few photos and not get gowns completely soaked! While indoor photos work, I LOVE some natural light!!!
One thing was clear after the wedding party was announced in, this group was ready to partayyyy! I was so excited to see a dance floor filled with people having a great time, smiling faces and all!
Finally, we of course snuck out for some dancing in the rain.
