Colt State Park Wedding

When I first met with Jenn I knew we would hit it off. She was laid back and easy going. Her wedding plan was to keep it small, intimate, and affordable. A Colt State Park wedding was perfect for Jenn and her soon to be wife, Katelyn. The Colt State Park wedding chapel is simple, yet beautiful, overlooking the bay in Bristol, RI. The park offers not only water views but also walking trails and wooded areas, all a short distance from the chapel.

The Ceremony

I arrived just as the couple’s friends and family were finishing up decorating the ceremony site at Colt State Park. Tiffany blue and white details, with a little rustic flair adorned the outdoor chapel. The bridal party was dressed casually, perfect for a water front wedding. Each bride was walked down the aisle by her father, stopping at a remembrance table to light candles for those that could no longer be there. The brides read personalized vows. A sand ceremony incorporated Jenn’s daughter.

The Love

The amount of love shared between these two could not go unnoticed. I could tell they were kindred spirits. After the ceremony, I was able to meet and photograph the couple’s friends and family. As everyone went off to cocktail hour, the couple and I stayed behind for formal portraits. Having close to a full hour for couple’s photos is nearly unheard of and I relished every second of it! The extra time gave Katelyn and Jenn a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera. They almost seemed to forget I was there. Most of all, the spark between them is evident in all their photos.
