I absolutely ADORED working at this Providence Art Club wedding this summer. The Providence Art Club is by far the most unique venue I have yet to work at. Just a block from Waterplace Park, and across the street from the First Baptist Church, the gallery is nuzzled into the heart of Providence.
Having the wedding across from First Baptist Church was perfect for photos. Because of this, we were able to get some wonderful portraits on the green. The groomsmen were all well styled and ready upon arriving. They definitely got a lot of “ooohs” and “ahhhs” from passing by tourists. First Baptist is one of Providence’s oldest churches, as well as the first Baptist church in America. Even though the couple was not being married at the church, we took full advantage of its beautiful architecture for formal portraits.
The Providence Art Club is unique and gorgeous. First, the main floor has two sprawling rooms with beautiful hardwood flooring. The upstairs is a winding maze of different rooms, galleries, and spaces. Lastly, the third floor opens up to a roof top deck overlooking downtown Providence.
The variety of rooms and decor was a photographer’s dream. You will definitely be impressed by the variety of images in your gallery when you book a Providence Art Club wedding. The ceremony area is in an alley way. The couple had a wall of flowers at the alter. I was the second shooter for this wedding, allowing for one photographer to be on the ground with the guests. Meanwhile, I perched myself high on the fire escape to get an aerial view of the wedding.
Finally, my night ended watching the couple take their first dance as man and wife. Surrounded by friends and family, they twirled around the top floor of the Providence Art Club. The perfect ending to a perfect evening.
