When it comes to beautiful locations + beautiful children, this session takes the cake! After a mini session marathon day got rained out, I was able to reschedule sessions by client. This family let me know about Chase Farm. Growing up in Northern RI, I was shocked I hadn’t been there before. Chase Farm was a perfect backdrop for Fall Family Portraits! The vast field and rolling hills also made it a great location for kids! The little ones could run and play, taking breaks here and there to get together for a photo. When you let kids be kids, the energy is beautiful. No trying to force smiles, or say cheese, it’s all about their personality. Who are they right here and now? How do they interact with their family? What is their role? I love watching it play out. Who is the clown, the serious one, who is shy? That is the true beauty in children’s photography.
As a single mom sometimes my two young children end up tagging along. This happened to be one of those sessions. And even at 3 & 5, my two little helpers were fantastic at holding my reflector, as well as being a distraction when I needed alone time with each set of siblings. A big part of why I started my business was to be closer to my children on a daily basis. Having the ability to bring them to my workplace is an incredible blessing. I wouldn’t change it for the world!
